Highlands Building Use

Highlands’ facilities, furniture, equipment and organs of communication are to be used to facilitate and support official ministries of the church. Exceptions may be granted in the case of local ministries that Highlands supports, or in the interest of civic responsibility.

The consumption of alcohol is not allowed on church premises, including the parking lot, or at any officially sponsored church event.

Highlands is a tobacco-free campus, and as such prohibits the use of tobacco in the building, on the grounds, and in any church-owned vehicle. This policy includes church members, visitors, and vendors.

Dancing is ordinarily not allowed on the church campus.  Requests for exception to this policy will be considered by the Session on a case-by-case basis.  The use of live bands or DJ’s on the church campus for wedding receptions and social events is prohibited.  Such ceremonial dances as a “first dance” or a “father/bride dance” may be allowed upon request.  Musical selections must be approved in advance by the Director of Worship Music.
