*If you can’t make the meeting, please email wilson@highlandspca.org
Dear Students-
On Sunday, October 23rd we will have commitment and information meeting for the Spring Break Trip to Yakama. Please make plans to join us. Also, please read all the information below VERY carefully and let me know if you have any questions.
What: Highlands Presbyterian Church College Ministry is teaming up with RUF at Mississippi State for a mission trip to the Yakama Indian Reservation in Washington State. We will be working with Sacred Road Ministries – A PCA church plant and mission to the reservation.
When: Spring Break! March 9-17, 2011. We leave Memphis, TN airport on Friday, March 9thand arrive into Seattle late Friday afternoon (Pacific time) and fly back late Saturday night, March 17th. You will need to make arrangements to miss school on Friday, March 9th.
Why: To go and serve the Lord in another land. To grow personally through missions. To see what God is doing among the Native American people. To discover if God maybe calling you to missions in some way.
What do I need to do if I want to go?
- Submit a Highlands Short-Term Mission Trip Application (coming soon!)
- Submit $100 deposit. Make checks out to Highlands Presbyterian Church.
Cost: approximately $1100 ($550 airfare, $375/person Sacred Road, $125 activity and transportation cost). See below about support raising.
What if I don’t have the money to go? On this mission trip, as any other trip, we trust the Lord to provide for Him to call those whom He would have go. We will trust the Lord’s provision and raise support through personal fundraisers and writing support letters. Please talk to Wilson if you have more questions.
Commitments:
- Keep up with correspondence by email regarding the trip
- Attend all fundraisers
- Raise support by writing support letters.
- Keep up with team information via email.
- Be regularly involved in church activities (if you are in town)
- Pray, pray, pray!
Space is limited to 14 students. Spots will given on a first-come-first serve basis beginning Sunday, October 23rd.
