Men's Ministry
Men love a challenge…and no challenge is greater than the one that Jesus threw down to Peter—and every man since—to follow Him and be fishers of men.
To do this will require all a man has, and more. It’s no wonder that when Jesus called Peter, He called him to join with other men so that no man would have to go at this challenge alone…and He still calls us to be a part of that brotherhood today.
In light of that call, the Men’s Ministry of Highlands is committed to offering times of fellowship, learning, and service to the men of the church so that each man has regular opportunities to grow in Christ alongside brothers of every age and season of life.
Fellowship
The year began with our Men's Ministry Kick-off on Sunday evening, September 13.
The premiere opportunity for men to fellowship with other men at Highlands is at our annual retreat. The 2009 Men’s Retreat was held Friday-Saturday, May 8-9, at Twin Lakes Conference Center in Florence. The speaker Richard Wiman, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Belzoni, challenged our men to 'guard their hearts' as they seek to grow in Christ-likeness. The next retreat is still in the planning stages--we'll let you know when the dates are announced soon.
Discipleship
Men need the friendship and brotherhood of other men to grow into the men of God they're called to be. To help us in this process of discipleship, we offer several Discipleship Groups for men. Some will last only 6-8 weeks, while others will carry on throughout the year to enable men to grow together in applying the Word to real situations in life. Click here to see the fall line-up!
Service
Men serve in any number of capacities at Highlands, but three on-going opportunities are specifically designed with men in mind.
Helping Hands
The Men's Ministry of Highlands has established a "Helping Hands Team" to assist members of Highlands who are unable to perform needed home maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, repairing storm damage and other minor repairs. Please fill out this form to request assistance.

Boy Scouts
The Cub Pack and Boy Scout Troop that meet here at Highlands offers a unique opportunity to the men of our church to intersect with the lives of young men in our community. To learn more about enrolling your son in the program or becoming a Scout leader, please click here .
Ushering
Providing a warm welcome and helping ensure a safe and smoothly functioning worship service is a large and important task each week. If you would like to apply to join an Ushering Team, please click here.
Meeting God Daily
One of the most important things a man can do for himself and for his family is to meet God daily in the Scriptures and in prayer. For many of us, deciding where to begin and how to proceed is the most difficult part of the process. Scripture Union has been providing resources for meeting God daily for many years.
