Missions Festival

Highlands' annual Missions Festival will be held Friday through Sunday, February 26th - 28th!

Our speaker this year will be The Rev. Richard Wiman, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Belzoni, Mississippi.  Richard has been at his church for over 20 years, and has had a world-wide ministry to our missionaries during that period of time as well.  Richard will be the keynote speaker at the Friday night dinner, and will wrap up the Festival in the pulpit on Sunday morning.  He will also share a challenging devotional at the Saturday Men's Breakfast as well.  In addition, we will have several missionaries joining us as special guests for the weekend to report on the progress of their work.

We hope you will plan to join us for all of our traditional Festival activities:

Friday, Febuary 26:  6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

  • 6:30pm - 8:30pm Adult Community Socials in homes with the missionaries.
  • Sunday, February 28:

  • 8:30 and 10:50 Morning Worship Services– Pastor Wiman speaking
  • 9:30am–10:25 am Community & Sunday School Hour (Adults in sanctuary, Youth & Children in regular classes)
  • Pastor Richard Wiman will open the Scripture and challenge us with the biblical mandate to spread the Gospel as each of us  determines our Faith Promise commitment for the upcoming year.  And an exciting concluding worship service, highlighted by the gathering of our Faith Promise Commitment Cards for the coming year.

We also have a special treat planned for Sunday, February 21, when Highlands and First Presbyterian Church of Jackson swap preachers for the morning.  Both Pastor Wheat and Dr. Ligon Duncan have made it their practice to challenge their congregations about the world mission of the church on the Sunday prior to their conferences.  This year, they will be challenging each other's congregations!

The Missions Festival is one of the favorite traditions of our church family.  Make plans now to be a part of  this great event this year. On-line reservations closed.  Please call the church office for reservations.
