HPC Caregiver Support Group

June 8 (Monday) at 6:00 pm.

Caregiver Support Group meets Monday, June 8 at 6:00pm in Room 118. Our presenter will be Sue Ann Meng, LCSW, who is a social worker at the MIND Center at UMMC. Her topic is "Longterm Care: Medicaid Eligibility & Application Logistics." Sue will delve into the weeds and logistics of Medicaid eligibility, coverage, and the application process for caregivers who may be facing a loved one's financial obligations for nursing home/long-term care. Please submit any questions you have for Sue Ann to Dixie Myrick at dixiemyrick05@gmail.com or Kit Prestridge at kit.prestridge@gmail.com prior to the meeting to make sure they will be addressed.

The group will gather on the second Monday of each month, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM in Room 118 at Highlands ( located by the Sanctuary). The sessions will be led by Kit Prestridge and Dixie Myrick. Their mission is to create a safe and open space where members can share their concerns, express their struggles, and seek support while caring for a loved one. They strive to minister with a spirit of "love in action," walking alongside fellow caregivers—whether they are currently in the caregiving role or reflecting on past experiences. Additionally, they aim to offer essential education and resources to support caregivers in their journey. As part of our commitment to Christian outreach, we welcome individuals beyond the HPC community to access these valuable resources, fostering a broader network of care and compassion.

We invite you to join and invite others to this community, where you can find support, share your journey, and connect with others who truly understand the caregiving experience.
