Highlands Presbyterian Children’s Ministry
Promotion Sunday ~ August 2
On Sunday, August 2, children will move to the class corresponding to their school grade. Sunday School begins at 10:30am. We will not have Music on that Sunday; please take your child directly to their new classroom to meet their teachers before you go to your Sunday school class. Music will resume August 9: K4 through 2nd Grade in Room 304 and 3rd through 5th Grades in Room 117.
Communicant’s Class – August 16 @ 5:00pm
A communicant’s class for children interested in joining the church will be offered beginning Sunday night, August 16, in Room 212. The children will use a workbook, entitled Understanding the Faith, which includes homework as well as classroom work. The class is open to all children interested in becoming a communing member. Children in fourth grade or below must be accompanied by a parent. Please register your child at laurie@highlandspca.org if he/she is interested in this class.
Thank you to everyone who supported our 2026 Highlands Vacation Bible School last week! Over 95 children participated in “Emerald Crossing: An Irish Adventure through Psalm 23.” Outstanding teaching material, a fantastic Music Team, fun and meaningful crafts, yummy snacks (for kids and adults!), daily skit actors who just might be ready for the big screen, and more than 75 dedicated adults and teens who taught, supervised, encouraged, and loved on our kids made for a very memorable and God-glorifying week! Nursery
Our ministry to children begins with our youngest members. We offer nurseries for infants through 3 year olds each Sunday morning and Wednesday evenings each semester. Children are placed in a class depending on their age as of September 1 of that year and/or their level of development.

Pre-K4 through Elementary Sunday School
A vital part of our ministry is the children of our church. Many volunteers serve each year to make sure that our kids are taught the truths of Scripture and experience the love of Jesus from someone other than their parents.

Pre-K4 through Elementary Midweek Program
Children’s Wednesday Midweek activities begin with a churchwide meal at 5:15pm in the Atrium. Classes & activities for our children, grades Pre-K4 - 5th Grade, begin at 5:30. They are dismissed from dinner for playtime, music, and teaching time.
